Born to a loving family in Vancouver, B.C Bria Danielle Whelton showed aptitude for making people laugh before she could even talk. As a 2 year old girl, she would drown out everyone, dancing to music at family parties. As a young girl she moved into dance(hiphop) and gymnastic classes.
At the age of 4 mother, Inger Whelton took Bria and her sister Brittany Whelton, to an audition for a commercial in Vancouver but didn't fit the age they wanted her to play. In 2001 mother (Inger) changed Bria's name to Taliyah (rhymes with aaliyah with a t) and made "Bria" her first middle name and "Danielle," her second.
In 2003 mother (Inger )took Bria to many different agencies before signing with "Act Talent," in 2006, at the age of 13. Taliyah Whelton was hand chosen to be in the upcoming film "Case 39," as an extra. Directed by, Christian Alvart. Written by, Ray Wright. Starring, Renée Zellweger(Bridget Jones Diaries) and young Canadian actress Jodelle Ferland(Silent Hill). The movie was shot in Vancouver in late 2006 and was scheduled to be released in August 2008, but it was pushed back to April 10, 2009. After the movie a week later Taliyah got a job as a "model," for an EA Sports photo shoot for an ice skating video game.
In late 2006 Taliyah and mother (Inger) walked from the agency, "they weren't giving her enough work." - says Inger. June 13, 2007 Inger took Taliyah, her sisters Brittany(older), and Brooklyn(younger), Whelton and moved to "Fort Myers, FL," where Inger looked for more work for Taliyah and older sibling Brittany Whelton.
In late 2007, Taliyah found herself living in "Virginia", where she now goes to a high school. But it doesn't stop there. Inger took Taliyah and her 2 sisters in early (2008) to an audition for "John Casablanca's" and were all accepted. When it came down to the interview they were asking us to pay way too much - says Inger.
Taliyah now goes to a high school in Florida, and is still trying to pursue her dream by taking Drama Classes and auditioning for acting/modeling jobs.
